a breather
Tonight was good. I have a chunk of paperwork done from my supply teaching job done. I have a bunch of stuff for my Municipal Liason duties done for Nanowrimo here in the north settled.  And the writer's group has started to gel. We have 3 core members (myself included) which doesn't sound like much, but a group like this doesn't need to be HUGE. We also have people who come upon occasion, which is also good. New faces who can come when they can is good too, to add fresh blood. And its even better if they are rotating fresh faces.  You build a sense of trust with the group but it changes enough so people stay on their toes. Life is good tonight. The influence of the full moon has done its damage and I still survive! Yeah me!

I just feel better having written something, although Rodriguez and Aislyn snuck out while doing the freewrite. I think I'll even save it and throw it into the book somewhere. Joy of joys, someone else chose the writing prompt for next time too! I enjoyed that, although I feel like I talked too much again. Oh well.

Nine Inch Nails sorta day
So today was Friday, and typical of me, I had idiot-mouth. This means that I mispronounce words, get myself into doing jobs that I really have no business doing and generally make an...well...idiot of myself.  I tried to do some outlining on my next project and got ONE index card written. One. It's been a down day, I tell you. So I came home for my break (working two jobs at the moment so I don't actually get to relax this weekend at all) and played some Nine Inch Nails to try to set the mood of the piece. Not so great. It's gott be caues I am tired and overworked. On the bright side, I will have plenty of procrastinating chores to do when I attempt Nano this year. I will also be the municipal liason for my area up North here as well.  Life is full of surprises!

Anyone with any suggestions as to what they would like to see in these blogs, please feel free to send me a comment or two!

The cat runs away...
I guess it's a bad sign when your loving and adoring cat runs from you instead of greeting you at the door...it's like you're a stranger.  She's not that bad yet, but it's close. The neighbours are pounding and it doesn't sound like fun. I'm just about run off my feet and haven't been able to spare much notice to the site for the past few weeks because of it. But November approaches and with it some time to myself, or you guys, actually. I'll be able to devote a bit more to the Taryn side of my life.
Talk to you later.

Aislyn is back

I've got the next one in the chute for Nano. I'll be outlining like mad until November hits. I have some new characters to get to know for that month. Things will be a tad more complicated. I hope I can pull all this off. My Characters seem to have faith in me.
I can't wait until "Even" is published and I can share a few of the tidbits of this one I've been keeping back.
I love writing!

Maritimer 'til I die
There are some things in life that I will never be able to escape.  Being born and raised a Maritimer is one of them. Such is life. For those of you who don't know, the Maritimes are those three provinces off to the right of Canada, just above Maine. New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island make up the Maritimes.  We are a stoic people, able to withstand the pounding of the sea year after year and still love her.  We have a great sense of humour and love to joke.  We like our drink and we have a strong work ethic. We love to talk and have a way with words that sets most English majors on their ears. We are one of the poorest sections of Canada, and yet we are the most generous. We, or at least I, tend to be blue collar. How I managed to be a university graduate with the grammar I come out with amazes me. I tend to approach life with practicality and not learn things until I need them. Perhaps this is foolish of me. Who knows. All I know is that I am from salt-of-the-earth people and I'm proud. Long live the Maritimes!

so today is another day....
I cannot seem to find the uninterupted time to write, lately. Friends call, work (both jobs) are on the phone and life seems to be taking off without me. Needed to calm down a bit so I went with a friend to the city. Wasn't as calming as I'd hoped. I need to take a trip by myself and get away from it all. I'll have to start taking a few days a week just to sit in the chair.
