Kids, Cats and Christmas
So the silly season is upon us and I for one, cannot wait for school to be out. I'm a substitute and realize why all the regular teachers are taking a day here and there while the shopping is good (and while the goods are there to shop for. In a northern town, it's not unusual for us to run out of supplies. I once lived in a place where there was no cash and no interact/debit...interesting times). The kiddies are coo coo for break to start.

I am writing this from the basement of a friends' house. She has invited me over for Christmas eve and I can't wait. She has two small children and I get to wake up with them and watch them see what Santa brought.  They are just as excited to have 'Auntie' sleep over. Not because I'm a favourite, but because I'm bringing my cat to sleep over with me. We will probably get the basement so my kitty doesn't have to worry about the dog here. The dog who also loves me and tries to spend every second with me when I come to visit, which is often. But the kids just can't wait to have the cat over night too.  Nice to be wanted. I guess the kids get the cat, I get the dog and everyone is happy except my cat.

I find myself excited this Christmas, and I haven't been for a while. I don't care what I'm getting, I just want to see what everyone else gets. Silly, isn't it? How's your season going?

It's been a while
Hi all,
I know, it's been a long while since I posted. I wonder who reads this sometimes. But here I am, tryin to work things out. It's been really cold up here lately. When you judge the weather by how frosted the lock on the inside of the door to your building is, you know it's cold.  Getting to be that -20 Celsius is balmy up here. That kind of cold constricts me a fair amount. I don't have a car, not because I'm super environmental, I just don't want the expense. That means that I don't walk as much as I should. I need to find myself some good winter clothes for larger people.

My weight has always been such an issue. That's one of the reasons that you won't find many pictures on the site of me. I hate myself in pictures. I avoided pics in my high school and university year books, so don't bother looking for them. Eventually I'll have something done on here, when I can find something that looks decent. I'm fussy. It's my face to the world, so I should present a good one, don't you think?

I found some great music to listen to when I walk too. One Republic's Dreaming Out Loud album has the type of feel that I like. Think of Snow Patrol, it's that kind of rock. Been avoiding the keys like crazy the past couple of days. I have got to develop better self-discipline.  Talk to you all later.

Bios
So this is my third attempt at a biography. Tez, give it a read and tell me what you think, would you? Also, if you could include your link info so I can put one up to you on my links page?
I'm stimyed on Aislyn, doing the whole walk-around-the-apartment-acting-like-a-blocked-artist-who-hates-dishes thing. I'll clean the bathroom before doing dishes. Is that not sad?
I may have a line on steady employment around February. Not to say that substitute/supply teaching isn't steady where I am. It is, I just would like to have a full-time position so that I can get a set schedule going. And maybe have the occasional sick day that I didn't lose money on.

I haven't heard from my editor yet about my manuscript. I'm terrified that it's filled with too many mistakes and she'll just say forget it! Not worth the hassle.

And it's Christmas time again. Don't forget your protective gear if you need a carton of milk. Shoppers are more aggressive as the time grows shorter.

Flu, Finished, and Forgettaboutit
Hey to my New York buddies!
No, not publishers, just friends that I met when I lived in the States. I can do a fair New York accent thanks to dem guys. Tanks!
I did finish Nano this year, 50,939 words done. I went to bed Thursday not long after posting, then got up repeatedly with a stomach virus that's been going around up here. I couldn't even go to work the next day. Couldn't sleep so I just decided to write between bouts. Crossed the finish line at around 2am, so I'm word count finished, just not story finished. Aislyn is still in peril and I haven't decided which of the boys gets to rescue her or if she'll just rescue herself, thank you very much.  I've also got a scene to work on. I have a very general idea of what I need to have happen, but no concrete things and it's kinda of myth building too. It's an idea that's going to be around in this series ('cause I guess this is a series, whether I like it or not) for a while.

In other news, I'm in the local news. Wednesday the local paper will be printing an article about Nanowrimo and myself and two other writers are going to be in it. Pictures and all. You may have noticed my fear on the livejournal entry. Still undecided on how to use these two, because I don't want to repeat myself on two different entries. I'm going insane, but that's just general knowledge, too.  Talk to you guys later, I've got a ton of chores to catch up on, since I've done Nano...one of which is my laundry (yuck). Later!
