Taryn Blackthorne was born in Nova Scotia, holds an English degree and a Bachelor of Education from Acadia University. She was born with an unquenchable thirst for stories. She learned how to read before she started school, much to the relief of her parents, who would use books like some parents use television today "Just go and read something, dear." Luckily, Taryn has been captivated by the worlds within those magic leaves. In fifth grade, she was surprised to find she was able to weave her own tales and dreamt of becoming a writer when she grew up. She's still waiting to grow up, but decided that after two degrees, a cat, grown up bills and several jobs around North America that she couldn't wait to write anymore. She published her first enovel in 2008 with Samhain Publishing. She divides her time between her cat, her keyboard and her teaching. She currently resides in Northern Manitoba, trying to keep warm.
